Three teenagers have recently been arrested and accused of multiple crimes following an alleged string of automobile thefts in New York. All three face numerous charges, including grand larceny and criminal trespassing, the penalties for which are severe if a conviction is obtained. Those accused of similar crimes might choose to prepare for legal proceedings by seeking guidance from a criminal defense attorney.

Police claim to have received a call just before 4 a.m. on a recent Monday morning about three individuals who were exhibiting suspicious behavior. Upon arriving at the scene, they say the men began to flee. The three teens were later located in various yards in the area and were all arrested on suspicion of involvement in a car theft spree.

According to police, all three were party to a series of automobile thefts that allegedly took place over the previous month. However, no information was provided as to how authorities came to suspect their involvement. Each is facing multiple charges in relation to the alleged thefts, some of which are felonies, and a conviction could have a substantial impact on their future.

Facing felony charges can be a stressful and intimidating process, perhaps especially at a young age. Those accused of similar crimes may wish to protect their future by challenging the charges, but the process can be complex. When facing a similar situation, a person could speak with a criminal defense attorney for advice on how to proceed. An attorney in New York can evaluate the charges and evidence against a client and assist in pursuing the best outcome possible during court proceedings.
