A police officer who was patrolling a park in Westchester County says he saw a vehicle he characterized as suspicious. Upon investigation, the officer claims he found the occupant of the car, a New York teen, to be in possession of several illegal substances, including LSD, cocaine and marijuana. The youth, a resident of Croton-on-Hudson, is charged with drug possession.
At approximately 8 p.m. on Nov. 20, the arresting police officer was patrolling John Hand Park in Yorktown when he purportedly observed a vehicle he deemed suspicious. The officer investigated and asserts that discovered the occupant of the vehicle to be in possession of marijuana, cocaine, and LSD. He charged the teen with fourth-degree criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor; seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, another misdemeanor; and fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a felony.
After his arrest, the teenager was taken to the Yorktown Police Department. There, following processing, he was arraigned and his bond was set at $5,000, or $2,500 cash. A member of his family posted the bail.
