The driver and three others were taken to a medical facility shortly after the accident for treatment of injuries that were not life-threatening.
The man who allegedly initiated the collision is now facing drunk driving charges after police claim his blood alcohol content was over .08 percent, which exceeds the legal limit for operating a vehicle in New York. Similar charges have serious penalties if a conviction is obtained, which only increase in severity when a collision occurs, perhaps especially if injuries are involved.
